Jalaya was a collaborative service initiative aimed at addressing the lack of access to clean drinking water in a rural preschool. The project was organized as a joint effort between the Leo Lions Club of Colombo Legacy Eminence and the newly sponsored Leo Club of Colombo Eminence. Recognizing the urgent need for safe water, especially for young children, the clubs undertook the task of donating and installing a fully functional water purification system at the selected preschool.
On the day of the project, members of both Leo clubs personally visited the premises to oversee the installation and ensure everything was properly set up. The initiative not only provided the students and staff with access to safe and clean drinking water but also contributed to improved health and hygiene conditions within the school.
This impactful effort was made possible with the valuable support of the Lions members, who contributed both financially and administratively. Their assistance with funding and securing necessary approvals played a crucial role in bringing the project to life. Jalaya stands as a testament to the power of collaborative service, reflecting the unified spirit of Leo and Lions working together to create lasting community impact.
