Feed the Hunger is a project initiated by Lions and Leos as a joint project. Lions Club of Colombo Mid City also part of the organizing team.
Leo is the largest globally spread youth organization which is operating under the Lions Clubs International. Leo Clubs encourage youth to participate in Community activities while enhancing their leadership capabilities.
Leos of Sri Lanka play a major role in the Leo Movement having produced many young leaders to the country. Leo District 306 C2 is a well renowned Leo District in the Leo Multiple District 306, Sri Lanka who are striving towards developing young volunteers into leaders of the Nation.
We as Leos and Lions believe that addressing and looking into the rising issues of the community is of much importance.
The initiative *Feed Hunger in Sri Lanka* began today with the presence of the District Governor Lion Rasika Priyantha MJF, District Chairman for Leos PDG Lion Dr. Lasantha Goonerwardena MJF in the areas of Nugegoda and Kotte. Today, 5.7% of the total amount of parcels were distributed. Several dignitaries from the district also joined hands in gracing the event.
This project is to be continued throughout the month and key events will be held on the 06th and the 13th of January. The Leo and Lions of the district 306 C2 will be providing meal parcels to the people in need along the while. The Leos along with the Lions of 306 C2 began the mission of providing meals for several people in need.
This initiative is to be continued in the future to benefit several more other people in need as well!
