Following the over night deluge a flash flood occurred in the race course inundating over fifty families living besides the thalagala oya streaam connecting lake Gregory leaving these poor families desperately in need of food and other essentials. Led by lion president Yogesh project chairman lion Siva Gunasekeran distributed fresh vegetables and dry rations to the victims as an immediate measure of relief to overcome their problems.
