We launched an islandwide tree planting programme which has been titled as ‘Caring for Trees’ on the Independence Day of Sri Lanka. This project is divided into 2 phases and the 1st phase was an awareness session on ‘Importance of making a greener Sri Lanka. So, we selected 50 well-known individuals of the country including musicians, actors, cricketers and young politicians who can easily pass this message to the community. We provided them the plants and requested them to plant it in their gardens, take a picture and update on their social media platforms asking their followers to do the same. Simultaneously, we, the members of the Lions Club of Colombo 07 did the same.
