For the annual festival of Verugal Temple many Hindu pilgrims travel/walk from various districts of Sri Lanka for making their requests and also for give their offerings for the blessings they have received, as majority of the pilgrims walk from long distance for many days they spent nights at temples on their way, likewise when these pilgrims arrived and spent a night stay at Vaharai temple Lions Club of batticaloa provided cooked food and water for over 2000 pilgrims
