Lions Club of Homagama Diamonds (LCHD) carried out testing of eyes and eye sight of the 160 students and 18 teachers of the Maawathgama Kanishta Vidyalaya of Homagama in collaboration with Healan Hospital and Livi Optical Services.Out of which 18 students and 10 teachers are found to be needed spectacles.As such LCHD provided spectacles for the needy as per the prescriptions free of charge.The Principal of the school ,Mr.Nelson Senarathna and the staff and Mr. Luxman Perera -Optometrist provided the assistance and professional services in this endeavour.Lions present were: P S K Senanayake, Samantha &Jayani Ukwaththa, Wasantha Aruna Keerthi,, Buddhi Arangala, Anuradha Nandasiri,Dilan & Disna Sooriyapperuma, Pradeep & Amitha Hatanarachchi, H A & Renuka Karunarathna.
