Description

Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), also known as chronic diseases, tend to be of long duration and are the result of a combination of genetic, physiological, environmental, and behavioral factors. The main types of NCD are cardiovascular diseases (such as heart attacks and stroke), cancers, chronic respiratory diseases (such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma) and diabetes. Therefore, Leo Lions Cub of Colombo Knights and Lions Club of Udahamulla New Century organized a awareness session for Noncommunicable diseases and mental health in Aranayake area where most of youngsters addicted for various type of drugs. Both sessions were conducted by professionals. They are Health Education Officer Mr. Upali Ranasinghe and Mental Health Consultant Ms. Dhanusha Tharangani.
