Global Causes/ Feed a child at the Vajira Sri Children's orphanage Pagoda
The new Lionistic year began with the special request of the New District Governor Ismath Hamid PMJF/MAF to conduct various social projects on the 01st of July 2023. Our club members with the Project Chair Lion Bandula Algiriya and his spouse Lion Lady Thilaka Algiriya invited the District Governor and his Cabinet Officers including The Cabinet Secretary Lion Konara, The Cabinet Treasurer Lion Dammika and other close official aides of the District Governor. the Regional Chairperson Lion Trudy Dharmaratne, who assisted in distributing the food to the orphans. This project was at the Vajira Sri Childrens Orphanage at Pagoda Nugegoda. A fusion kitchen was set up to provide a hot delicious meal for the 40 orphans and the 12 staff members. There was an inspiring speech by the District Governor to the orphans during the event.
