The sponsors of an Internationally assisted Back to School project Mr and Mrs Sanders and their children Tess and Joppe from Netherlands were visited by the Project Chairman and Club Secretary, Lion Tuan Jamion and Club Administrator and GMT Coordinator, Lion Prabha Dharmarathna at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo on the 19th of August 2023.
In appreciation for the kind gesture in donating School books, instrument boxes and stationary to 25 needy children of Dhalthara Junior School in Piliyandala, they were presented with colourful wooden ornamental elephants, gem stones, tea packets and a Sri Lankan Mug. As a Momento a valuable metal Plaque was also handed over to the family. They were surprised and happy to receive all these gifts just before their departure to Amsterdam, Holland the next day.
They were friends of Lion Tuan Jamion who had taken them around Sri Lanka for over three weeks as their National Tour guide.
