An Awareness program on Drug Abuse was held at the Dhalthra Junior School on Thursday the 17th of August 2023 from 9 am onwards. The Lions Club of Colombo Elvitigala assisted financially to set up the sound system, the tent and chairs to accommodate 125 people and refreshments to all present. The Project Chairman was Lion Prabha Dharmarathna, Club GMT Coordinator. The Keynote Speech was delivered by Venerable Kirulapona Dhammawijaya thero on drug abuse and prevention and protection of children from dangerous drugs. The awareness program was concluded at 12.15 pm with the coming of foreign donor visitors from Netherlands, Mr/s David Ssnders and their two children for the next event, the distribution of refreshments and donation of educational kits to school children. The Project Chairman was Lion Prabha Dharmarathne.
