"Bringing Waves of Success: Wellawatta Beach Cleaning Project Triumph
On September 24, 2023, the sun rose on a day that would leave a lasting imprint on our hearts and the shores of Wellawatta Beach. The Lions Club of Havelock Legends, alongside their families, the spirited students of Arawwala Vidyaloka Maha Vidyalaya, and dedicated teachers, united for a grand mission – to cleanse, rejuvenate, and uplift.
Under the esteemed presence of Chief Guest 2nd Vice District Governor Lion Gaya Upasena PMJF/MAF/SLF and the gracious Guest of Honour, Past District Governor (2021/2022) Lion Roshan Kanchana Yapa, the day was infused with positivity, unity, and purpose.
Leading the charge with unwavering dedication was our Project Chairperson and Club President, Lion Saminda Lugoda PMJF, whose vision and leadership ignited the passion of all involved.
Together, we toiled under the sun's embrace, transforming the beach into a pristine haven. Laughter echoed through the air as children played and participants worked side by side, creating a powerful sense of community.
The Wellawatta Beach Cleaning Project was more than a success; it was a triumph of unity and shared purpose. Every smile, every bag of collected litter, and every wave of gratitude served as a testament to the impact of collective action.
