The 01st of October declared as the World Children's Day was celebrated by distributing snacks and refreshments to almost 75 people including around 60 children from the Vivekarama Vihara Mirihana Nugegoda. The Chief Guest was District Governor Lion Ismath Hamid who was accompanied by the Cabinet Secretary Lion Konara and District Chairman for Environment Lion Wasantha Masakorala. Speeches were delivered by the Chief Incumbent monk , the District Governor and Projects Chairman Lion Bandula Algiriya, District Governor's Coordinator for Vision. 10 members from our Club were present including District Governor's Coordinator for Better Sri Lanka, Lion Prabha Dharmarathna and District Governor's Coordinator for Environment, Lion Tuan Jamion, District Governor's Coordinator for Elders care, Lion Amara Perera and Chairman Lion Ladies Association, Lion Enoka De Silva. Gifts were handed over to the teaching staff and to the outstanding pupil. The children received an educational kit each comprising of Raincoat, pens, pencils, erasers.The donations were handed over by the District Governor and other officials.
