Report on Almsgiving in conjunction with the Katina Pooja of Velage Purana Rajamaha Vihara.
We are pleased to share the outcome of our recent Katina Almsgiving event held at Velage Ancient Rajamaha Vihara in Ratnapura Balangoda. The initiative, spearheaded by the dedicated Project Chairperson, Mr. Anura Pradeep, on November 6, 2023, was a resounding success.
A gesture of community and shared celebration, food was generously distributed to all villagers participating in Katina Almsgiving. The event drew over 1000 attendees from five neighboring villages.
Arrangements were made to serve meals on the spot for those present. Additionally, about 200 food parcels were distributed to all individuals who requested them. The meal included a nutritious combination of red rice or fried rice accompanied by lentils, fried fish and more.
