On the request of the Principal, damaged chairs of the school was repaired by fixing the wood plate and doing welding work for broken iron rod. Almost 300 chairs were repaired and handed over to the school society for the betterment of school students. |

Donated a sum of Rs. 25,000/- to upgrade surrounding and color washing the abandoned monumental bus halt, in memory of Police Sergent Mr. T.M.K. Sirisena ( Father of Lion Pamal Ruwansiri, President of Lions Club of Ratnapura ) and 60 police officials who were missing in action during Liberation Tamil Tigers of Elam (LTTE) war period on 11th June,1990 at Kalkuda, Batticaloa. We had an opportunity to attend this memorial project along with District Governor, Cabinet Officials and eastern other lions, while attending to Eastern Lions Get together on 7th January,2023. |

We have organized 250 young school children from five rural schools, at 50 children from each school and provided transport to university site, allowed them to visit the premises and inside the halls, laboratories,facalties of Agriculture, Science, Management, Gemology and Information Technology etc. and motivated, promoted them towards the importance of higher education facilities in this sound free environmental hilly area like Belihuloya, in order for them to gain and know the general knowledge of university higher education facilities and to encouraged them for higher education in time to come. Most of the Senior Lecturers and other staff who have consented to obtain membership of lions Club of Sabaragamuwa University Supreme were given their utmost corporation for this program. |
Converting an abandoned land to a suitable school Play GroundBy lions Club of

Preparing Abandoned land and developed into a suitable one-acre Playground at R/Thiriwanaketiya Rural School and handed over to the Principal of School on 13th January 2023, in memory of 144th Birthday of our Founder Lion Melvin Jones. 20 lions, Principle, Teachers, Parents and children participated to the opening ceremony. The Children were very happy and immediately started to play all over the ground as they did not have this facility earlier. |

Encouraging the value of youth's education and awarding monthly bus fare passes among 20 poor students of Sri Dharmasala Pirivena, Ratnapura, those who are about to discontinue their education due to unbearable high busfare from long distances. Lion Pamal Ruwansiri bears the cost annually, commencing from Januarym2023. District Governor's Chief Advisor for Sabaragamuwa, Region Chairman, seven lions, Principal and Vice Principal of the Pirivena and three teachers participated. |

Removing of old garbage, polythene and waste materials, cleaning of Drains and pavements, repairirng culverts, cleaning of water pits to irradicate Dengue menace and uprooting of jungle plants, vines and cleaned to a good environmental standard.in hospital premises, with the assistance of Hospital doctors, staff and 25 Prisoners.12 lions guided in time to time and monitored the work of the site. JCB Machine and two tippers used to remove the waste soils waste materials. Prisoners and attendees were treated with Breakfast, Lunch and refreshments with evening tea. |

Educational programm on good living practices, Rehabilitation and motivation sessions for 50 persons, those who are suffering without income to pay legal fees imposed by the Courts due to involvements of illegal drugs etc. Four Musicians were singing based on subject matters in order the improve mentality of those people. This importance programe was conducted by the "Praja Visordana Unit" of Judicial Department of Ratnapura with the financial assistance of Lions Club. 4 lions, 4 officers of AGA office, 6 officers of Judicial Department of Ratnapura and 4 officers from PrajaVisordana unit attended. All participants were treated with Refreshments and tea.50 Dry Ration packs worth of Rs. 3500/- each were distributed among victims. |

Teamwork, playground activities, Singing and dancing, good behavioral hobbits innovation and motivation and self-living practices were trained for 18 kids of Street children, those who are living in this home and were very happy on the day in the absence of their parents. They were gifted with cloths, books and pens and various items of chocolates, food items etc. All were treated with Refreshments and Tea and Lunch. Leo club of R/Ferguson undertaken this as their first project with the financial assistance of 4 Lions Club of Ratnapura. . Six Parents of Leo members, 15 Leo members and 2 guests attended. |

Three orientation sessions were conducted under the guidance of Past District Governor/Leo Chairperson Lion Lasantha Gunawardena, and with the help of Senior Leos of Leo District and was selected 154 leading Girls with the approval and blessing with their Parents and Principles. 154 girls were installed as New Leo members. Office bearers were selected and installed by the PDG Lion Lasantha Gunawardena and Vice Principle appointed as the guardian/advisor on behalf of school. Board of New Leo members were awarded with lapel pins and medals. 6 Leos of Colombo clubs, Chief Advisor of District Governor Sab. Lion W.Maddhumage, and 4 lions attended from our club of Ratnapura. Lion Pamal Ruwansiri, President of the Club and Lion Gamini Ratnasekera appointed as Leo Advisors. All participants were treated with refreshments. Decorations done by the Senior girls of the school. |
